My name is Jason Daniel Bradley and I’ve had a very unusual life compared to most people and the vast majority of people who had an early life like mine generally are not so fortunate as I have been. My friend playfully refers to my background as “colorful”. I was born into poverty and raised by a dangerous psychopath father and straight up evil stepmother (and I’m looking for no sympathy; after you turn 18, that’s no excuse for shit). After four years in the Army, I was a violent sociopath myself for years and I have been in around a hundred street fights, clearly way more than your average Joe. I ended up with a crack habit, living in the barrio before I finally managed to pull my shit together and move up in the world. I’ve had close friends go to maximum security prison. I’ve had people I cared about overdose on drugs and die, and a few people I knew get permanent brain damage from drug use. I’ve had two good friends brutally murdered (two different events) and known others who have been violently killed. I’ve been friends (and done drugs) with prostitutes and junkies, street fighters, ex-cons, and soon-to-be cons. I’ve spent more than my fair share in jail, although luckily have never been convicted of anything serious. Now I’m almost fifty years old and unlike all of those people from my past (with one glaring exception that I’m very proud of), I got out of that life. I try to be a compassionate person and practice kindness. I’m solidly middle class and own a nice home, and rental property, and the stories from my past never fail to amuse my current friends which is why I ended up writing “Surreality: Strange Tales From a Man Sitting Down the Bar From You”. People have found it very interesting and I have a unique perspective that I have found can be valuable to help others reconsider how they think about things. If you buy my book, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll be amused, but even if you don’t buy it, please enjoy this website and consider signing up for future stories and ideas. There are plenty of more books in my head, just waiting to get out. I also dabble in politics and philosophy. Have a great day, I know I will. It’s great to be alive and every day above ground is a good one.
